On October 28, 2016 I was riding my bike southbound on University blvd. It's a ride I make often when commuting to work. I can count on one hand the times when people haven't followed the 3 feet law. However, the All My Sons moving truck missed hitting me by about 2 inches. Even if there was no law requiring motor vehicles to give 3 feet when overtaking a bike, it would still come down to common decency and not wanting to hurt or kill another person.
WORST moving company!!!! I don't know where to start.. at first I was happy that they will call me every 3 days t see if i was going to choose them to move from Sunrise, Fl to Jacksonville FL my price was around $3,200.00 to move.. Second the guys are not professional movers, I pre wrapped most of my big furniture because I like to be organized i put all the big furniture in the living room, and all the boxes in one of the rooms, like that the guys didn't had to go to every room and get the items.. I basically made it very easy for them.. the only thing they had to dissemble was my KING BED (ikea) extra easy to dissemble, my husband computer desk (ease to dissemble also) and the refrigerator.. they scratch the refrigerator because they didn't wrapped before they took it out of the house... my bed, baby crib, my sofa, the washer and drier was scratches all over the place!!! plus, they put all my big furniture on top of each other I told them if something falls my item will get a scratch they told me they will fix everything when they get to the company. BUT THEY DIDN'T... I gave them 40$.. when the truck got to Jacksonville everything was all over the place, I call them and told them what happen and they haven't call me back to apologize for the inconvenience... all they tell me its that some have to come to house to see the damage items.. but they haven't TWO WEEKS and no one answers my call or emails!!!
I called a branch office and inquired where truck 582 worked. The gentlemen on the phone said that was one of his trucks, so I proceeded to tell him what happened. He said they would be back in about 3 hours and would talk to them upon their return. He honestly didn't seem like he cared too much and offered no apology for the misconduct of his drivers. I find it a bit concerning that a person with a CDL license and driving professionally for a moving company wouldn't know the laws of the state they are working in. Not only that, but someone who would totally disregard a persons life just for the sake of him thinking he was right, is not someone I would have working for me or moving my personal property.
The drivers are rude and unprofessional. I've not had the pleasure of using this company to make a move, but a recent interaction with them while riding my bike has left me no other option but to leave a review.
I was able to catch up to the drivers at the next red light and told them they almost hit me and had to give 3 feet when passing. The driver told me I didn't have any right to be on the road and needed to travel in the bike lane or sidewalks. There was no bike lane and traveled as I needed to in the right lane and on the line closest to the curb. I told him I had every right to be on the road and he said I didn't and that he knew the laws. Obviously, he doesn't, but I'm sure he does now. I made a mental note of the truck number so I could call the local office when I made it to work.
